Power over Ethernet
From Soekris Info Wiki
Power over Ethernet (PoE) is supported on some Soekris devices (e.g. net4511, net4521, net4526, net4826). Power may be supplied on the unused ethernet lines (as typically used by a midspan injector).
Note that the 802.3af standard for PoE also allows for powering on the used (data) lines and this is done by some commercial switches. Details are available of a modification to support power on the data lines. There has also been discussion on soekris-tech.
